Phoebe Wang, cello
Phoebe is a Colorado native. She began her piano study at age three with her Godmother, Cindi Hsu. She started studying the cello at age seven. Her current cello teacher is James Todd. Phoebe is a member of the Denver Young Artists Orchestra (DYAO). Phoebe was the winner of the 2014 DYAO String Ensemble Concerto Competition. In 2015 and 2017 she was featured on Colorado Public Radio’s “Spotlight” program. Phoebe was also the winner of the 2016 DYAO Conservatory Orchestra Concerto Competition and performed at the Newman Center. In 2017 Phoebe was chosen as a First Place Winner (Junior Category) and a Judges’ Distinction Award recipient at the American Protégé International Piano and Strings Competition and performed at Carnegie Hall.
